WH Smith book store on the rue de Rivoli near the Louvre carries the Sunday New York Times and so on Monday, knowing what I knew, I went by metro, plunked down €16 for all those pages of newsprint, and saw for myself that I really was on the first page of the "Style" section, as my brother from N.J. had called to tell me (although it was my daughter Lucy in NYC who first alerted him to the fact.)Since the article appeared, I am amazed at just how many people who don't live in NY actually read the Times! But it's the internet, Jake. They read it online.
And so I have made a couple of resolutions: to answer as soon as possible anyone who writes to comment on the article; to actually go to "O Chateau," the Hidden Kitchen, Chez Nous, Chez Vous, and any other concern that is mentioned in the article.
The next day, I went to my favorite printer at M° Jules Joffrin, ABG Réprographie, who have made postcard invitations of art shows in the past for me, and made color copies of the article to send to people who might like to have the hard copy.
